Non-urgent advice: Temporary Registration
If you are away from home and need urgent GP care, or you are not registered with a GP but require treatment, you can register as a temporary patient for up to 14 days for emergency care.
You can also register as a temporary patient for up to 3 months. This allows you to receive care locally while remaining registered with your permanent GP. After 3 months, you will need to either re-register as a temporary patient or register permanently with the local practice.
To register as a temporary patient, please contact the local practice you wish to use. Please note, practices are not required to accept temporary registrations but must provide emergency treatment. You cannot register temporarily with a practice in the same area where you are already registered.
